The conference venue can be reached easily by public transportation. Trams 4, 9, 16, 20, 24, 25 all stop at "Spui" (as well as at Central Station). From there, it is a 15 minutes walk (see map below; Spui is in the South-West, Oudemanhuispoort in the center). From Central Station, it will be a 20 minutes walk. Since 1876, Oudemanhuispoort is one of the main buildings of the University of Amsterdam. As its name suggests, it used to be an old people's home. It was constructed in 1754. One of the attractions of the building is that it has a passage which features a book market (also for books in foreign languages).
